Virtual Autism Summit 2024 with Dr. Kerry Magro
Bayonne Public Library is proud to announce that we will once again be offering a World Autism Summit with Dr. Kerry Magro on Friday, May 3rd from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm! Dr. Magro is a professional speaker, author, autistic self-advocate, and the autism consultant on Netflix's Emmy-Award-Winning Series 'Love on the Spectrum U.S. Season 1'.
This virtual event is designed to educate a diverse audience, including educators, therapists, self-advocates, and family members, about the intricacies of autism from a well-rounded perspective provided by Dr. Magro and other voices from the autism community.
This summit will include 3 educational sessions. The first session will set the stage with Autism 101 where Kerry will be discussing moving from ABA to transitioning to adulthood, and cover 10 frequently asked autism questions. The second session will be a self-advocate expert panel moderated by Kerry, where you will hear firsthand from individuals on the autism spectrum about their experiences, learn about self-advocacy strategies and their importance in empowerment, and understand the diverse perspectives and journeys of those with autism. The third session will offer school tips to help autistic students thrive.
